Autumn Blaze Freeman Maple is a fast-growing deciduous tree with ascending branches and broad-oval crown.  The dense deeply cut palmate foliage is a medium green that turns into a blaze of orange-red and scarlet-red in fall.  Flowers and fruit for this hybrid are very sparse.  Best color in full sun and rich, moist well-drained acidic soils.  Drought tolerant once established.

MAINTENANCE NEEDS: Low maintenance.  Water regularly.  No significant problems but young plants are susceptible to leafhoppers, scale, and borers.

LANDSCAPE USES: Group Plantings or Specimen Tree, Naturalized Areas, Woodland Gardens, Privacy Screen, Street Tree, and Shade Tree.
