Green Mountain Sugar Maple is a long-living native deciduous tree with a symmetrical pyramidal crown and palmate foliage that turns a range of orange, yellow, and bright red in fall.  Neither flowers or fruit is significant.  Best color in full sun and rich, moist, slightly acidic well-drained soils.  Intolerant of pollution and road salt.  Green Village has improved resistance to pest and leaf scorch.

MAINTENANCE NEEDS:  Medium maintenance.  Water regularly.  Susceptible to verticillium wilt, anthracnose, cankers, leaf spot, and tar spot.  Also susceptible to aphids, borers, and scale.  Leaf scorch may be a problem with drought conditions in full sun.
