Flower / Fruit: Inconspicuous; green or brown, flat seed in middle 1/2" long to 1/4" wide; in axillary clusters Soil: Well drained, moist, fertile, humus rich; adaptable to clay or sandy soils
Foliage: Alternate, simple, elliptical to ovate and leathery with a rounded, serrated leaf margin; medium to dark green leaves turn yellow orange to yellow brown in Fall Light: Full sun to part shade
Bark:  Smooth, olive to brown gray mature exfoliates puzzle-like bark exposing orange, tan, gray and brown patches Pruning: Minimal pruning needed; remove low hanging limbs
  Uses: Street tree, parking lots, medians, lawn or shade tree, specimen
